HOW TO: QUICK AND EASY COOKIE RECIPE IN 10 STEPS

Recently whenever I've got bored or avoided doing coursework, I've started baking so I thought I would share with you my most recent cookie recipe and how I made them. I've made the college of photos below, which kind of follow the steps...

Ingredients: (this made me 12 cookies so you can obviously add more weight to the mixture if you'd like to make more)

125g of plain flour
1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
100g of light or brown soft sugar
50g of caster sugar
1 egg
1/2 tablespoon of vanilla extract
85g of unsalted butter
160g of chocolate chips and fudge pieces
& some baking trays lined with greaseproof paper

Start by pre-heating the oven to 170 degrees then...

1. Measure out the flour, bicarbonate of soda and the salt and sift them together in to one bowl
2. In another bowl, measure out and sift together the brown and the caster sugar
3. Melt the butter (I just did mine in the microwave) the add to the sugar and mix together
4. Then add the vanilla extract and the egg to the mixture and blend that all together
5. Slowly start to add the flour in the mixture until it has formed a dough like texture
6. Measure out the chocolate chips and fudge pieces then add to the rest of the mixture
7. Then when it is all mixed together, use a tablespoon and drop the mixture in to lumps on the baking trays making sure they are well spread out
8. Put them in the oven for about 15 minutes
9. Then take them out the oven and place them on a wire rack to cool down. When they are cool you can decorate them if you want to - I just ready made icing pens in a few different colours
10. Enjoy!

Hope you enjoyed this post, it's something a little different to what I normally do but I think it's nice to mix it up a bit and show you what I've actually been up to (Mary Berry in the making). Let me know if you make these cookies or you have a great recipe of your own!

DRUGSTORE WISHLIST: SPRING EDITION

Although it's still February and perhaps not technically spring, I still thought I would share the things I'm currently lusting after for when the weather brightens up...

1. Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pink Gold - I already own the shade On And On Bronze and it my everyday go-to eye makeup. I just apply it with my finger and blend it out with a fluffy brush - done.  However for spring I want to experiment a bit more with colour and think this pink shade would be really nice for a natural day everyday look.

2. Max Factor False Lash Effect - I think the image in the picture is the 'fusion' version, I'm not too sure how it varies from the original formula. When it comes to mascaras I'm not very loyal and love trying out new ones. After reading a lot of good things about it recently I really want to give this one a try!

3. Topshop Pastel Nail Varnish Collection - Insert *heart eyed emoji*. I 100% have a thing for pastel nails at the moment and Topshop are definitely bringing it with their spring collection. I've got my eyes on these two bottles as well as the lilac and baby pink, hint hintttt...

4. Real Techniques Eye Starter Set - Every time I go in to Boots it feels like I put this set in to my basket and every time I take it out and I'm not really too sure why. I practically own every other brush in the Real Techniques collection so know how good they are yet this one has always been left behind. So maybe after this months payday I will finally pick it up.

5. Loreal True Match Foundation - After Amelia Liana revealed this is her dupe for the ever so luxurious Giorgio Armarni Luminous Silk foundation I really want to try it out. However compared to most drugstore foundations there is an enormous shade range which a variety of three undertones, making choosing my shade a bit of a task.

6. Revlon Colour Balms - There was so much anticipation and hype around these little balms and they have now finally hit stores. I am a sucker for a crayon style applicator, it makes the colour so easy to apply and they are perfect for everyday. Within in this range there are two different finishes, the lacquer range which have a glossy finish. And the matte range, which have a matte finish..... Way to point out the obvious there Kathleen. The packaging of the products also relate to which finish the lip balm is, which I think is a great touch.

Hope you're having a great week so far, I've started my half term with lying in bed till half past ten and I don't feel guilty - yet.

#WIWT VALENTINE'S DAY

Hey everyone, hope you've all had a lovely week. As you probably know today it is Valentine's Day! Is it Valentine's Day everywhere, or just here? I always wonder as these kind of days/events seem to vary around the world.

Although my boyfriend and I aren't actually 'celebrating' Valentine's till next week (long distance life) - I thought I would still get in the spirit and wear this purple heart patterned shirt from New Look. I'm not sure if this exact one is still available but there has been loads on the high street since Burberry's influence last year. I just paired it with a pair of black skinny jeans and black ankle boots, which I don't think I have taken off since I bought them. For lipstick I chose the Rimmel Kate Moss 107 from the matte collection, it is beautiful deep plummy-red colour however it seems to be showing up quite bright on the photo.

I'm having a proper tgif moment today as I now have a week off of sixth form, yipppeee. I was also very lucky and had gorgeous bouquet of tulips left outside my house, I posted a photo of them earlier on my Instagram if you'd like to take a little look here

Whether you're staying in with your boyfriend/girlfriend or going out with friends, I hope you have a lovely evening :)

NEW RELEASE: INTRODUCING LOLLITINT...

Lucy demonstrating day time look on Kirsty
How cute are the lollipops with the Benefit tints packaging?!

Last week I was lucky enough to attend an event (my first one eeekk) at House of Fraser, in Bristol for Benefit's latest release Lollitint. This is the fourth tint Benefit have bought out after the Bene, Posie and Cha-Cha. Lollitint has a slightly new formula, it is more gel based meaning that it is thicker in consistency to the orignal bene-tint, which is more water based. After comparing the different tints, I definitely prefer the formula of the Lollitint as it's a lot thicker making it easier to blend.

The lovely Benebabes Lucy, Kirsty and Hannah demonstrated how Lollitint can be used for a day and night time look. As the product is a tint this means that you can use in a variety of ways - either on a cheeks as a blush or on the lips as a stain. For the night time look the girls used Lollitint and High Beam together, which looked really good as the colours really complimented each other. The product is also really build-able so that you can apply more of less depending on the look you want to achieve. Fun fact - Lollitint is a candy-orchid shade, which has been voted colour of the year for 2014, so expect the see a lot of it coming out in the spring.

The girls also showed us The POREfessional Powder, another recent release from Benefit. It's a loose setting powder that also comes with a little brush, so is a great for popping in your handbag to use for touch-ups during the day.

After playing with all of the beautiful products (and eating all the cakes and sweets) we went downstairs to the counter, where we all had our eyebrows 'brow mapped' and also had a hand massage using the benefit skincare range.

Lollitint retails at £24.50. For 12.5ml of product I think that is a good price as you are effectively getting two products in one! Both Lollitint and The POREfessional powder are both available to buy now either online or from the Benefit counters in store. Finally a big thank you to the the Benefit girls, for putting on the event it was a lovely evening and it was great to meet some other beauty bloggers.

What do you think of Lollitint? I adore the girly pink packaging!
